Santagata, Doris T. (Doire) 81 yrs old of Johnston, RI, passed away peacefully at Miriam Hospital on January 31, 2024.
She was a realtor for 28 yrs, specializing in interior design and staging.
She was a loving, caring wife and mother. She was also a grandmother to Gary Chamberland, Anthony J. Santagata, Craig J. Kelly Jr, Alysa N. O’Neill Reyes, Joseph R. Santagata III, Nico A. Santagata. She was a great grandmother to Keeshawna Palazzo, Avangeline Chamberland, Nico A. Santagata Jr and Joseph R. Santagata IV.
Doris was a woman of inspiration, strength, dignity, kindness, humor, selflessness, charisma, sincerity and character. She only found good in people, touching many hearts. Although she spent a large portion of her life in the hospital, she never complained of pain and would always smile and persevere, enjoying every moment of her life. Her favorite past time was going to the casino.
She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 66 yrs. Joseph R. Santagata of Johnston. She is survived by her daughters; Julie A. Kelly (Santagata), Lisa Santagata-O'Neill and her husband Antonio O'Neill and Carissa J. Santagata. She is survived by her brothers; Joseph W. Doire Jr and Paul E. Doire of Florida.
She is preceded in death by her son, Joseph R. Santagata Jr.; her parents Joseph W. & Leda (Malo)Doire; her sisters Rita M. DiOrio and Leda A. Doire.
Visiting hours are Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 1-3 pm At Keefe Funeral Home located in Lincoln, RI.
The Family would like to thank the help and care given by Miriam Hospital Staff to include the Urological team, the wound/ostomy team, Physical Therapy Team, Nursing staff and CNA’s on 3 North.
